The Department of Computer Engineering at University of Sistan and Baluchestan was established in 2003. The Department has admitted students in two BS majors, "Information Technology Engineering" and “Computer Engineering” since 2003 and 2004, respectively. It has significantly grown in all aspects since its establishment. In 2017, the department’s program expanded by adding two MS majors, "Computer Networks" and "Information Technology". Today, the Department produces internationally recognized graduates who are competent and creative. Due to the widespread career opportunities of its graduates in both government and private sectors, the Department is one of the highly sought among the students at USB. The Department seeks to combine excellence in education and research with service to industry.

The Department currently has 11 faculty members and over 395 students working towards their Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees.
