The Civil Engineering Department is established in 1974 as a first department at University of Sistan and Baluchestan. For the first twenty years, the undergraduate programs emphasized on structural engineering, so that the majority of graduated have been employed as dean of different associations and companies along the country as well as the Sistan and Baluchestan province. Since then different Civil Engineering programs have been introduced to the department. In 1995, the master program and in 2003, the research program in Structural Engineering, have been extended to other fields of Civil Engineering. The Department now enjoys an excellent reputation based on the development of its academic programs leading to doctorate degrees, including extra-curricular activities and retraining of practicing professionals. Academic programs for the grant of B.Sc., M.Sc. and doctorate degrees in various fields of Civil Engineering are designed to cover recent developments in these areas and emphasize the specific needs of developing countries in general and Iran in particular. At the present time, the Department of Civil Engineering has 60 full time faculty members, more than 250 graduate and 200 undergraduate students. It has four areas of concentration: Structural Engineering, Water Resources and Environmental Engineering, Hydraulic Structures and Construction Management.
B.Sc. and M.Sc. students are admitted to all degree programs based on their performance on the National College Entry Exam for their appropriate academic level. The academic year starts in the fall. The students admitted to our B.Sc.
