This department was established in 1974 and accepted students to train the History teachers for Iranian High schools. In 1998 the department enrolled students for general history in B.A. Since 2002, the department has started teaching in four academic trends in B.A History (History of Iran during Islamic era, History of Islam, Ancient Iran History, and History of the World). Since 2015, the department offers M.A. students in Iranian Ancient Languages; the same department offers Ph.D. in History of the World. This department has 12 professors (3 associate professors and 9 assistant professors).
