Faculty of Science was established in 1982 as one of the oldest colleges in the University of Sistan and Baluchestan and consisted of four departments, Chemistry, Geology, Physics and Biology (in 2008, the Department of Mathematics was separated from faculty of Science as  School of Mathematics). The Faculty of Sciences has 60 members of scientific board. At present, students of this faculty can study in three levels (B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D.) with 6 programs in 6 B.Sc., 18 programs in M.Sc. and, 8 Ph.D. programs.

Faculty and staff members of the  Faculty of Science attempt to improve the quality of education and research, launch new fields in postgraduate programs, improve the scientific publications, and collaborate with other universities and organizations in science and teaching.
