Department of Geology was founded in 1985 by an undergraduate program. This department aim is to train committed researchers and specialists in Geology and related fields. It is expected that graduates can help in scientific development, economic independence and domination of natural resources of the country. The Department of Geology also offers Masters’ and Ph.D. programs. In the Master's Program students can study in the areas of Geochemistry, Petrology, Hydrology, Economic Geology, Tectonic, Stratigraphy and Paleontology.
