According to the public relation reports of the Ministry of Science, citing the Institute for Citation and Monitoring of Science and Technology of the Islamic World (ISC), the rating and evaluation of 115 state universities and 17 non-state universities in Iran was done by the ISC rating group, and based on the evaluation results in 6 Items:  education fields (a weight of 30 percent), research (a weight of 25 percent), technology and innovation (a weight of 20 percent), internationalization (a weight of 10 percent), economic impact (a weight of 10 percent) and social services, infrastructure and facilities (a weight of 5% percent) was collected in the following three ways

1: Research information based on national and international databases, which extraction and monitoring is responsibility for ranking management and citation analysis of ISC Institute.

2: Self-declaration by the universities, which is obtained by completing the electronic ranking questionnaire by the contacts in the universities.

3: Some educational information provided to the rating group through the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology or affiliated organizations.
